A single commission

The Bespoke Process

From the first conversation to the final fitting — the journey of a garment built only once, for one person, to be worn in a single moment that will not repeat.

First consultation: fabric swatches and beadwork samples arranged on a white table in the Paris atelier
2–3 hours
01

La Consultation

We begin in silence — with fabric samples and a conversation about the life the garment will enter.

The first meeting is never about measurements. It is about understanding the occasion, the silhouette the client carries in their imagination, the weight they want to feel against their skin. We bring bolts of silk, swatches of organza, samples of beadwork from previous commissions.

Couture sketch in progress: pencil and watercolor croquis on drafting paper, atelier table
1–2 weeks
02

Le Croquis

The sketch emerges from the conversation — not drawn but excavated, the garment already present beneath the paper.

Our atelier director works in pencil and watercolor, building the sketch over several sessions. The final croquis is not a blueprint but a promise — a document of intent that the garment will spend hundreds of hours trying to honor.

Toile fitting in progress: muslin draped on dress form, atelier seamstress pinning adjustments
3–4 fittings over 6 weeks
03

La Toile

The first fitting in muslin — the silhouette carved from nothing, adjusted by millimeters.

Before a single thread of the final fabric is cut, we build the garment three times in toile. Each fitting reshapes the silhouette — a seam moved 4mm to the left, the neckline dropped 6mm, the hem raised to where the light catches it correctly. Nothing is approximate here.

Hand-beading in progress: artisan placing seed pearls on silk organza under magnification lamp
6–14 weeks
04

La Broderie

Hand-beading begins — each crystal set by needle, each seed pearl placed by a single artisan.

Our broderie atelier works in silence. A single gown may require four embroiderers working across three months, each responsible for a section of the garment. Crystals are set individually with a needle and thread, never glued. The weight of the beadwork is calculated against the weight of the silk to ensure the garment moves as intended.

Final fitting in the grand salon: couture gown on client, atelier director making last adjustments
1 final session
05

L'Essayage Final

The final fitting. The garment meets its client for the last time before the world.

The final fitting takes place in the grand salon. The client arrives in the shoes they will wear, with their hair arranged as it will be on the evening. We make final adjustments in the room — a hem pressed, a seam released by a single thread to allow breath. The garment leaves the atelier three days later, wrapped in tissue and sealed.

A consultation is not a sales meeting — it is the first hour of a commission. We ask you to arrive prepared to describe the occasion, the feeling you want the garment to carry, and the memory you want it to leave.
